Peer Discussions - Advocacy in Alberta is Not Neutral
- What advocacy issue caused the most internal debate at your Chamber?
- Where does your Board get nervous about advocacy?

Group Scenario Exercise - The Alberta Advocacy Line
- Is this advocacy, political, or partisan?
- What’s the risk of speaking? What’s the risk of silence?
- Who should approve the response?
- What language keeps the Chamber credible?
Conference attendees have been asked to anonymously submit an advocacy situation that made them hesitate, stall or lose sleep.
As a table, you’ll discuss:
- What was the real constraint (Board Member fears, politics, timing, authority)?
- What would you document?
- What would you say publicly vs. privately?
- Who should carry the message (ED, Chair, Coalition)?

The conference will begin with a networking lunch at 12:00pm on Thursday, June 11.
The conference will end with a visit to the St. Albert Farmers' Market - the largest outdoor Farmers' Market in Canada - from 12:00pm to 3:00pm on Saturday, June 13.
