CCEA Summit 2026

CCEA Summit 2026

The Chamber of Commerce Executives of Alberta (CCEA) will be hosting Summit 2026 in St. Albert from June 11-13, 2026!

Here's a sneak peek of the conference program:

Peer Discussions - Advocacy in Alberta is Not Neutral

  • What advocacy issue caused the most internal debate at your Chamber?
  • Where does your Board get nervous about advocacy?
  • What pressure do you feel from local government when you advocate?
  • What issue do members expect you to speak on - even when it’s risky?
  • What’s one advocacy success you don’t talk about enough?
Peer Discussions - Advocacy vs. Politics
  • Where do Chambers in Alberta most often blur advocacy and politics?

Group Scenario Exercise - The Alberta Advocacy Line

  • Is this advocacy, political, or partisan?
  • What’s the risk of speaking? What’s the risk of silence?
  • Who should approve the response?
  • What language keeps the Chamber credible?
Advocacy in Practice: Power, Pressure & Protection
Conference attendees have been asked to anonymously submit an advocacy situation that made them hesitate, stall or lose sleep.

As a table, you’ll discuss:
  • What was the real constraint (Board Member fears, politics, timing, authority)?
  • What would you document?
  • What would you say publicly vs. privately?
  • Who should carry the message (ED, Chair, Coalition)?
